ssi not working on jrun server

Hi,

My SSI's show up in dreamweaver but when I open up a browser, the server loads everything but the SSI's. I have named the SSI using a shtml extension and I have read the dreamweaver documentation but I am still at a loss. I am developing an intranet site using jsp.

Please help, I have lost sooo much sleep over my project.
