I'm trying to login through SSH as root. However my login username and password allways get rejected. I created a new account and tried that one as well. Also got rejected. I've tried this through the LAN and WAN and it fails the same way.

I noticed that there are no folders $HOME/.ssh/.....
but I know the daemon is running because it seems to exchange public keys.

Are there seperate username/passwords for SSH?
Is there some permissions I have to enable for the SSH user?
and why are the ssh configuration files missing? Is there a way to restore them?

I do not think that you should be able to ssh with root, as that is a major security violation. Can you get it with a user id, and then su to root?

Yes, I made a new account, with a new username and password beloging to the Adsys Group. Then tried to SSH into it from a remote host. Again my login was rejected the same way. Do you think I have to run ssh-keygen command for this new user?

Can you check to see prngd & sshd are running on your server?

When I login, from putty, the 1st time, it gives me a message to generate the keys, I type yes and it lets me login.
