Squirrel Hardware Options 1

We are upgrading to Squirrel One, and the supplier's prices for brand new 8XL units is a little steep for me. I've read that Squirrel will run on lots of different hardware.

What are my best options for alternative POS terminals? Ideally machines that are plentiful on the secondary market. Somewhere in the $350/per would really be nice. I'm looking for about a dozen units.

Will I have to get the software to run on alternative equipment from my service provider? I can't see them just forking that over if I am going around him on hardware.

Sorry about the delay, I'm a newbie to the Squirrel side of the POS world although I used it for many years back when. I had to get some clarification about the latest Squirrel software.

With Squirrel One 1.5 you can use any XP or W7 terminals. The latest hardware from Squirrel is Work Station 9 or 10. I was wondering why they would suggest you only upgrade to WS8XL temrminals as they are 4-5 years old already. We have plenty of used 8's in our warehouse if that is what you need.
