SQL7sp3 (on NT4sp6a) MMC1.1Setup window keeps appearing

I just installed SQL7sp3 -- everything seems o.k. except: now when I logon/remotely access my server, the server's desktop loads a Microsoft Management Console 1.1 Setup window (which consumes a lot of processor power), then it closes automatically 10 seconds after I logon, and frees up the resources. Can anyone tell me how to get this window to go away? I tried reapplying sp3 five times but no luck.

Any ideas?

Do you have local-administrator authority (to that box) when you log in remotely? If not, the setup program will never complete and so that's why you get it over and over again.
