SQL statement to add fields

I all I am pretty new to access and was having trouble sorting a couple things out. I am creating a simple golf (helps to be interested in something while learning!)program that adds my fields (Hole1->Hole18)->would I use SELECT field + field + field ect ect? Then append that to another table.....little lost terminology wise on solving this. Finally how would I fire a query that visual basic 6 will display for output.....does that seem to be ok base?
