What is the best way to back up sql server to a remote site so that if we had total data loss locally I would be able to restore and get back up and running as quickly as possible. I have a remote file storage option that I use and I currently store a MSAccess version of the db there. I assume there is a much better solution to this. Can someone "upgrade my knowledge" please?

Thanks a ton~

Just trying to make sense of it all ...

If you are using SQL 7 or SQL 2000 then you can use log shipping (Either the built in Microsoft version, or you can write your own).

If you are using SQL 2005 you can use log shipping, or database mirroring.

Either way you'll need the correct version of SQL installed at the remote site. Check out the FAQs in forum962, there is an FAQ there on writting your own log shipping (as Microsoft's requires Enterprise Edition).
