My company has asked to me set up a site using ColdFusion, and I've heard tons of bad things about using Access for a production environment. I was going to try to use MySql since it's (almost) free, but didn't want to run it on a Linux box. Does anyone here have any recommendations for SQL servers, on a Win2k box?

It depends on how much you want to spend. For my two cents, your boss is right about Access. It just can't handle more than a few visitors at a time. If you're running on an MS server I'd suggest an MS database -- SQL Server. Sybase is extremely similar so you could look at that too.

Oracle is my personal favorite but it's VERY expensive and may be overkill for what you need.

I'm sure many other people will have their opinions on this subject, so good luck!
