Does anybody have any ideas in relation to the correct RAID setup for SQL Server (or indeed any RDBMS). <br>

I have talked to various people about this and receive differing answers. Most people support RAID 1+0 for performance with reliability. However, recently I spoke to a DELL RAID guru whom said that RAID 5 was the best, if you use at least 5 disks in the RAID set (even though you incur more writes). That was fine until I saw the performance of a top spec Seimens server running SQL Server 7 and RAID 5 on a three disk config - it was quite poor (from my brief inspection).<br>

Can anybody help?<br>
