Hi Everyone,

I have SQL Server 2000 running on one box and Enterprise Manager running on another box.
On the box running just the Enterprise Manager, I've noticed that there is no service for SQL Server Agent.
Since we schedule jobs from this box, I need the agent to run as a service.

Has any one experienced this problem?

Thank you,
Doina

The SQL Agent should run as a service on the Server, not on the client. The Agent cannot run if SQL Server is not running on the machine. Job information is stored in SQL tables in the msdb database. All scheduling of SQL jobs should be done on the server. Terry L. Broadbent
