SQL SERVER-7. Error code:547, Attempting to update records

Using VB6(ADO)- SQL SERVER 7.
Faced with the following provider-specific error code when trying to update some records: 547.
What does error 547 mean?

This error indicates that you have violated some sort of constraint on your table - unique key, foreign key reference, etc. You're probably trying to add/update values that are either non-unique or non-existent in the referenced table. The error text should give you more information so that you can determine what your particular situation is.
