Hello everyone,
Let me give you the lowdown and then you may be able to give me some recommendations. First of all, my company network is setup with a number of Access DB's on a main drive. All of these DB's are "ghost" DB's, in that they link or import tables from a main product inventory DB. They all have Access front and backends with the front end functionality driven by VBA. I have successfully recreated all the Access DB's in SQL 7.0 running on WIN2k Advanced Server. The problem lies in my current installation: I installed SQL 7.0 and Win2k AS in a dual boot environment on my workstation only. Just in the past few days I recieved news that the company mounted a "SQL Server only" drive on the company network to have a centralized location for all the database files. Here are some questions regarding the situation: Can I install SQl Server and the hosting OS on the relevant server and then pull in my current DB work that i have done on my workstation? Or do I have to script the current DB work first and then recreate the DB's later? If Sql Server is installed on the company network and on my workstation, is there a way to centralize all DB files, sql files etc.. on the network and do the work from my workstation? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.. Thank you and have a nice day..
