Hi,

Does anybody know the price for SQL Server 2005?
Will the license policy the same as SQL Server 2000?

Thanks

SQL Server 2005 isn't for sale yet, so there's no price for it. As for licensing, you will have to wait until Microsoft starts selling it.

Thanks bill.

Actually, they do have prices posted for SQL Server 2005. They just don't have it available yet.

Here's the link:

Looks like the options have completely changed about what types are available compared to 2000.

BTW, I've seen the new interface. We have a demo copy here at work. Wish I could post a gif of what it looks like.

Pretty different from what we're all used to. Not only is the Program Menu different (It took me 20 minutes to find the 2k5 equivilant of the 2k Enterprise Manager), but the interface has combined some of the best, and worst, features of QA and EM. Bleargh! And they've changed the names to all the groups in the interface.

Those prices were once posted on Microsoft has since taken down the prices and put up that the final pricing has not been anounced, so they are probablly rethinking the pricing.

The new UI for SQL 2005 is based on Visual Studio.NET not the old Enterprise manager. Once you get used to the new UI isn't actualy very easy to use. (it probably does help that I've got some .NET experience)
