Hi,

I am using sql server 2000 ,I have upgraded it upto SP2 , problem with sql server 2000 is its not releasing memory resources even after completion of all the transactions.
Size of sqlserver.exe is increases continuously till max available memory ,then server becomes slower. There is no way other then restart the server to get back the main memory. I will be greatful if someone can help me out.

Thanks in advance,

Shailesh

Have you encountered the same problem before you updgraded to Service Pack 2?

We are having the same problem with one of our servers. It also has service pack 2 applied, but the problem was there before the service pack. We are backing up the log file every hour and are wondering if there may be a connection.

JonathanC,

I had upgraded it to SP2 to solve the same problem, Problem was persisting with plain sql server 2000 ,then i upgraded it to SP1 and finally SP2 , still the problem is persisting.

Thanx,
