SQL server 2000 EVal version

Hello,
I am newbie to SQl server. I have been working with Oracle for 2.5 years.
I have sql server 7 client tools installed on my computer so I can do some query with Query analyzer or EM by connecting to a DEV server. I don't have enough priviledge to do something such as schedule a job or delete etc.
I would like to download SQL Server 2000 Eval on my computer so that I can have admin priviledge to it (just for practicing SQL). Will there be any conflict between SQL server 2000 with my current sqlserver 7 client tools ? I don't want to break my computer.

Is it safe for me to download sql server 2000 Eval? If I download and install it, do I need to install sql server 2000 client tools too ?

You can install SQL 2000 on your machine with no problems. It will install the 2000 client tools but you can then use them to connect to your existing SQL 7 dbs with no problem.
