SQL Server 2000 email (xp_sendmail)

Hi
i am trying to setup a trigger for an issues page which will automaticly email the assigned_to person in the database. i have setup the SQL mail and it is working but i dont know how to insert the assigned_to person selected in the issues page and use this name to email only instead of a preselected person
