SQL Replication to Oracle 8i : ORA0001 Primary Key violation

I have an SQL setup to replicate data to an Oracle 8/7.3...
After upgrding to Oracle 8i, we started getting ORA0001 primary key violation messages and the replication started missing about 5% of the replicated rows.
Reverting Oracle back to version 8 solved the problem>

Any one experienced such problem ?
