Hi,

I have outlook configured with just internet mail. I can interactively send and receive mail messages as administrator.

My SQL agent and SQL server run as administrator and show no problems when testing the mapi session.

When I try to send a mail message the call to xp_sendmail never returns.

I have tried everything. Outlook does not prompt for passwords or profiles at all when invoking the MAPI - I have made sure of that.

Other details are:
NT 4 SP6a (Server)
SQL 7 SP3
Outlook 2000

ALL patches and service packs applied to office and NT.

What can possibly be the problem?

Baffled

ON BOL you can read the Article "How to use SQL Mail (Transact-SQL)" it has all the information you need to send and receive emails AL Almeida

Carlos -

You do know that the call to xp_sendmail uses the Outlook addressbook names for people, not 'joe.spammer@buymystuff.com'?

Chip,

You can send Email to Internet addresses using xp_sendmail or SQLAgent Mail. We have configured SQL server to send critical messages to our home adresses weekends and nights.

Carlos,

Have you reviewed "INF: How to Configure SQL Mail" at
