I have a SQl 7.0 DB that was running a DTS process last night. It filled the harddrive of the destination machine.
It seems to be trying to "unwind" the DTS package.
I need to be able to restore this DB ASAP as it is our Client DB and or stop this unwinding and reattach the DB.

Thanks For you help in advance

If the job failed due to lack of space, it has to rollback. A rollback takes the same amount of time as the transaction/job that was running when the rollback occurred.

You COULD Kill the job, but that might mess up your database.

If I did kill it would the effected data be limited to the transaction that was being processed or would it be the entire DB.

thanks

One interesting note is that the step in the DTS that caused this problem was actually a delete process. So the data that was in this table I really dont care about. I do however care about the other tables.

As I don't know what the DTS was doing, I can't advise you on what could occur if you KILL the process.
