Sql error after loading IIS

We have a Win2000 advanced server with SQL 2000. When we loaded IIS we began getting the message - Error when starting SQL server 0x0000142.

If we stop the IIS service, SQL starts OK. (But then we can't restart IIS unless we stop SQL.

Any help would be appreciated.

What's in your SQL error log when you have IIS running and start SQL?

Any stack dumps?

can you start it in single user mode?

c:\sqlservr /c /m /d<drive>:\mssql\data\master.mdf

(least i think thats it, calling it from memory)

Try seting up the database to use TCP/IP instead of Name Pipes. See if that can fix it.
