Hi

Is there a seperate installer for the SQL Enterprise Mansger console ?

Regards

andrew

What version of SQL are you trying to install, 2000 or 2005?

Both can install client tools separate from installing the database, however, only 2000 has Enterprise Manager. SQL 2005 has SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) which combines Query Analyzer and EM. EM doesn't exist anymore for SQL 2005.

I am running SQL 2000 STD. I want to find a seperate installer so that I can try to repackage it and pass it out to about 20 machines.

There is a way to push out just the client tools as part of a remote install because the Help Desk at my current workplace does it all the time. Look up "remote installation" in BOL. It's pretty self explanitory.

thank you. one final, maybe silly, question ... what is BOL ?

Books Online.

Go to Start -> Programs -> Microsoft SQL Server and it's one of the options under there. Alternatively, Microsoft has a version online at that you can download.
