SQL backup exits with status 2

I have SQL agent installed on my client running MS-SQL server. My backup exits with status 2 saying none of the requested files were backed up. What does this mean?

did you create a batch that tells netbackup which db's to backup?

I do. I save the batch on the Database machine and then give the path to it in the policy on the NBU server machine. There seems to be nothing wrong with the batch as Application backup can run and backup all databases, but Full backup fails and exits with status 2.
