sql 7 --> sql 2000 upgrade

before i upgrade to sql 2000 from sql 7 does anyone have ant advice or has anybody run into any common problems that i should be able to avoid...will this upgrade actually upgrade my current version of sql 7 or create a new instance of sql 2000...i installed the personal addition already and it did not give me an option to upgrade, only create a new instance....will this happen on the server as well...

You can install a new instance of SQL Server or upgrade from SQL 7.0.
