IE
Hi,

First time in this forumm. here goes:

Everytime on my home PC when i go onto the internet i get a popup message/ad saying Spyware has been detected on my PC.

If i close this ad, its fine, but if i go to another web page a different, but similar popup appears, and so on, and so on....

This is really annoying, so how do i get around this?

thanks in advance,

thePunisher.

My first advice would be to switch from IE to Firefox for your internet browser. It has a built int popup stopper, and is much more convenient than IE.

If for some reason you don't want to make the change, try downloading the Google toolbar. It also has integrated popup stopping ability.

Sorry, I should have told you where to get Firefox. Go to

Are your registry and data backed up?

As far as if you want to get rid of the file, download these apps:

ad-aware spywareblaster spybot search and destroy hijackthis cwsshredder
All of these are helpful programs for getting rid of adware/spyware. Also, if want to use MS Internet Explorer, download the google toolbar from - it has a built in pop-up blocker that works good.

Also, have you noticed any "search bar(s)" installed on your machine? If so, you may be able to remove some of it by going to your add/remove programs list, and look for "MyWebSearch" I believe it is called. Just uninstall it there, then run the spyware apps and download google toolbar. I run spywareblaster, ad-aware, spybot s & d along with having a linksys firewalled router, and Norton Internet Security Suite (virs, firewall, etc) and also have Norton System works - checks registry and such as well for errors, and have no problems. It also can depend upon what sites you visit. Some are laden with spyware, pop-ups, etc, while others are perfectly safe.
