Hey guys,

I am running cm 3.1 with a mixxed environment of VOIP and Digital sets. (4621/4622/9630/6416)

I am getting a very sporadic issue: if you dial an outbound call there is a clicking on the line every 2 seconds for the call. This is hard to replicate, I've been trying to catch it but it happened only once to me. I was able to get the PRI and channel it went out of. Gave the call sample information to my phone carrier to trace out in case they are the culprit. The weird thing is that only we can hear the clicking and the far end doesn't hear it.

My carrier did not find anything even after I was able to provide them 4 call samples with the exact PRI and channel the call went out of.

This issue is very sporadic so it's hard to replicate. Anyone have any idea on were should I look next?

Thanks

Check your DS1 logs. Do you have any slips or errors?

Do you have a good timing source that's the same as the span carrying the PRI?

Carpe dialem! (Seize the line!)

Are there any headsets in the equation?

Thanks,

I will check the DS1 logs. When it happen to me, I was on a wireless headset but I switched to my handset and it was still there. The other person it happen to does not have a headset.

Thanks for the response!

I checked the PRI's and there was no errors on it. Still getting the clicking issue but I have engaged my PBX vendor. So far they came up with nothing. will keep you guys posted.

Thanks!

I had this same thing happen to me years ago on a T1 that carried my local traffic. The lec had a setting wrong on a card in their CO. It took me years of vendor meets and screaming for a tech to finally listen and he had it fixed in two seconds. What was happening was that the Avaya switch was giving us dial tone but once we hit the local T1 the dial tone was dropping and that was making the clicking sound. It was so annoying. I made them put a note in the CO not to change out the card for testing or any reason but failure.
