Got a small office with only 2 jacks in it. One of the supervisors wants a 3rd phone put onto another desk for one of the night shifters. He doesn't care if it shares the same EXT as the others.

Problem is...the other 2 sets are 2008s. Is there anyway I can do this easily, or am I going to have to convert one of the desks to a 500 set and use a splitter to make it happen?

Thanks as always.

Both jacks only two wire? Typically 4 pair, leaving you 3 extra pair in there to work with.

we use splitters all the time, very old plant.. some of it going back to 1976.. you can use a line 1 line splitter and puch the second phone down on the white green.. digial requires a 3rd tn.. if you make one set analog then a line 1 line splitter will create a party line.. depends on what the users need..

Steve, you can purchase splitters that break out the blue and orange pair on the top left side or the green and brown pair on the top right side (provided the wiring vendor got that part correct). Off of a single 4 pair cable, you could essentially have 4 phones 2000 series or 500 series. I will see if I can get you a part number.
