Speed dial on 9508

Seemingly simple thing to do but I am stumped. How do you create a personal speed dial on a 9508 phone? The documents are confusing. If I read it correctly I need to be on a call to use the feature soft key. There is the features soft key when on hook but there is no matching entry in the list for speed dials.

I was hoping to see if the user themselves can enter phone numbers into their speed dial list. I cannot see using manager for personal speed dials. Company, sure but not personal.

Both telephone book and button programming must be done on the phone by the user...

Scroll right to Personal
Press New
Type in the name
Scroll down
Type in the telephone number
Press Save
