Speed dial number delete

NEC IPX 2400 D-Term phone how does one delete a number on a speed dial key ?

To program a number, press FEATURE + line key assigned as one touch + 9 + number + FEATURE. This will replace any existing number. You can try pressing the hold key to clear the existing number, or just replace the existing number with a few numbers short of a real phone number.

That did not work . I guess these NECs (Not Engineered Correctly ) are not worth these salt IMHO

If that did not work, then it is not a speed dial. Or you're not doing the process correctly. Have you confirmed via AKYD that the button is actually a one touch speed dial?
