I am trying to create a AD distribution group called batch on a Win 2003 Server Primary Domain Controller machine and I get the following message.

"Windows cannot create the object batch because: The specified user already exists."

In Active Directory Users and Groups there isn't a user, contact, group, pre-windows name, email addres, alias, Nothing called batch.

Is there some hidden batch user or something?

i think it may be a reserved name... considering what a batch file is etc...

change name, try _batch or sth else

afterwards you can set the 'display' name to be 'batch', no problem!
