Special symbols for a survey

I am trying to build a survey from scratch and I need special symbols how not to fill out survey bubbles.
For ex. not cross, or not partly fill them out.

Try as I might I was unable to find on-line shth like that. I tried to create them through Paint but they look ugly.
Besides, they are too far from each other because of the handlers.
If I reduce them they are not readable at all while they should be a circle shape and the size of basic emoticons .

Is there any way to create them like emoticons in the text editor

like that ?


How can I overcome the issue?

Could you , please, give me a hand?

Iren, Excel has the ability to insert shapes of many sizes and configurations. You could easily insert a circle, and then any combination of other shapes to demonstrate poor filling techniques.

In Excel 2003 or older, I believe the shapes are available from the Drawing Menu. Which you can access by right clicking on the menu bar to bring up the list of available menus. If Drawing Menu is not checked, go ahead and check it.

In 2007 or later, the shapes are available from the Insert Tab, under Shapes in Illustrations.


However, if you prefer not to insert shapes, you may also find some use from the WingDings font family. I was just playing around the other day with a set of 5 partially filled circles available in WingDings 2.

n -- properly filled circle.
x, y, z -- poorly filled circle.
