Special character set

Hi
is anyone who can tell me how to fetch and insert by an easy way special characters (like 1/4, é) into a FrameMaker document (FM 7). Any font should be possible. I am looking for a better method than with alt-key + number. Is there any third party software available?

You might try Shlomo Perets' customization for Frame (

http://www.microtype.com).

It includes some keyboard mappings for special characters.
