Finally got it!!! This was on a clients system (no anti-virus or firewall!). Installed and ran Norton A/V and AdAware. Used Stinger to get rid of 9 more viruses. Then I could get online to update AdAware and anti-virus signatures. Thanks for all the help - one of the sites given reminded me to use Stinger. Never used it before, everything I've worked on before had, at least, a "trial" version of some a/v I that I could update.
