Hello. Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question. But I was wondering how I could use spam assasin to block non USA orginated emails. Block ending with .it .ru .au etc.
I don't think you can do the blocking you want by domain name. Although domains in the .us, .edu, .mil and .gov top-level domains (TLDs) are probably only going to be issued to US-based organizations, others, such as .com, .net and .org, are assigned globally.
Anyway, on what would you make the decision? The "From:" header, like all SMTP headers, is set arbitrarily. A spammer in Russia, which I assume you're trying to block, is nearly certainly going to provide a "From:" header from a bogus domain, even if that domain falls within the the .ru TLD.
sleipnir214 i always appreciate your help and insight in every forum that you participate in. How do you manage your job and to answer so many questions?
Actually, a sizeable part of my job is answering questions. And I quite a number of the answers I need I get by searching the fora at good ole Tek-Tips.
