Space beneath an image 1

I don't know whether it's because I've been burning the candle at both ends but I can't for the life of me see what is causing this.

Look at

It's a cut down version of a page I am working on. I have left the CSS 'as is' but removed other parts of the page to eliminate them as the cause of the problem.
The same behaviour is exhibited on both the proper page and this test version.

See the big image, there is a space beneath it and I can't work out where it is coming from. Any ideas?

It should be machine in the domain name

It seems to be an inline element issue. Considering how it looks right now, I would change the display property of the image to block. That rids all the extra spaces. In IE6, removing the spaces also works, but FF seems to want to have a gap unless displayed as block.
