sp_updatestats Question 1

I know that runnning sp_updatestats will increase performance on a SQL 2000 database, but my question is how often is sp_updatestats run in a day. I am working on an application that is about to be deployed worldwide with a central database. Using a small testing group (approx. 30 users), we are having run sp_updatestats a couple of times a day just to keep the queries from timing out.
Is it normal to have to run sp_updatestats a couple of times a day? - Jeff Marler B-)

With in the options tab of the database you can set the "Auto Update Statistics" and that will handle your updating. You might want to look in BOL under "Statistical Information" or "Setting Database Options" to understand a little more about this option.
