All -
Just got off the phone w/ MS support. I had one server in my org that hung while trying to install SP4, even though all other servers in my org were fine w/ newly installed SP4.
Tried a couple of tricks, nothing worked - called MS.
The solution they had documented in INTERNAL references only was to uninstall the not in use CC Mail and MS Mail connectors - THEN, run SP4.
It worked. (I asked my tech to request a KB article on this since my case was at least #3 called in with this issue.)
I asked what would have happened if I had needed CC or MS Mail connectors and there wasn't a documented solution - but if you run into this issue, try uninstalling these (if you don't use them). Maybe it'll save you a couple hundred dollars.
Good luck,
