Hi

I have a newly built server that I'm setting up. I'm trying to install SP2 and the installtion has been sitting saying "Stopping the service MSExchangeSA" for ages.

I've checked and the service is actually stopped. Any one seen this before ?

Cheers

Andrew

Yes, I have. Had to reboot to resolve. I believe I got passed this by first stopping the services before I ran the SP2 install.

I hope you find this post helpful.

thanks for the reply. Unfortunatley it's not helped in this case. When I try and stop the services using the Services control panel they still hang .... I'm going to kill the server and stat again. :-(

thanks again.

You can set them to be manual start then reboot the server and they won't be running to start out with.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark

I tried that then the SMTP service wouldn't stop correctly ... so I think there is a big problem with windows. I've blown away the box and am installing windows again.

thank you

Yikes - that's some serious overkill.

it did end up working and only took me a day to get back to where I was. (this wasn't a production server, and was only in a test enviroment)
