We have a Mssqlserver active/passive failover cluster, recently the cluster had to be rebuilt and has been operating as a cluster of one for the last week. We just added the second node back into the cluster, but I am not quite sure if I have to apply sp3a to the new node or not?

If both nodes were in the cluster when sp3a was installed it would get installed on both. Does the new node grab the updated files from the other node or does sp3a have to be installed on the new node directly?

Thanks for any info

Joe
