When I installed windows xp home from the retail upgrade cd, I searched for music and the only music that come with it is:

Filename containing folder
1. flourish.mid c:\windows\media

2. onestop.mid c:\windows\media

3. town.mid c:\windows\media

4. pinball.mid C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Pinball
(this must be for pinball!)

5. pinball2.mid C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Pinball
(this is also for pinball)

6. music.wma C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\My Music
(this is the song "Like Humans Do" which automatically plays when you start windows media player.)

7.Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 (Scherzo).wma C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\My Music\Sample Music

8. New Stories (Highway Blues).wma C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\My Music\Sample Music

NOTE: some of these files are stored in more then one (1) place

What are all of these songs for?

These are just sample/test sounds, much as were provided with earlier versions of Windows. The exception is the pinball tunes, which are related to the game.

Crap music that Microsoft has left for your enjoyment. I think not! Fiddle about with things, and you've more than likely got the job done.
