sounds like it's looking for A drive

When I start winxp it always appears to be looking for the A drive it makes the sound and the light flickers,Is there anyway i can stop this,it is annoying.Thanks in advance...drummond

Do you have an Anti-Virus installed? If so this is likely what is causing the drive search. There should be a way in the anti-virus program to disable this "feature". James Collins
