My SB Live Value only gets one output under win xp. there's two output channels in the back but no audio is comming out of the first output channel. i'm running a 1.2 athlon on a ddr DFI ak76 main board. i've tried installing new drivers from the sb website but that didn't fix the problem.
i fooled around with WPCRSET to get my aureal to work w/ xp but it only ended up w/ sound out of one channel. i plugged the SB hoping for 2 channels, but i only get one.
any clues? thanks.

A friend of my has discovered that he gets only music from one channel when using winamp, but in a game he gets both channels.

I, at home, have no sound at all with my soundblaster live. It is properly installed en enabled but the device is not started. When i shutdown it seems that a executable: 'devldr' hangs. I think it is related, but... It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious.

I know there is a updated driver for this card on Windows Update Website, don't know if it cures your problem?

YO, so i put the new drivers up but it still doesn't work. any other clues?

It seems that any updates make the problem only worse !
I did i fresh reinstall without updating any drivers and my soundcard worked from the first moment.

SB Live in Windows XP gives output to both speakers only in DirectSound mode. Winamp has a default Directsound plugin, which works with two channels (4-speakers). That is also the reason why it works in games, they use mostly Directsound.
