Sound Problem

Sound worked fine until two days ago, then disappeared. If I turn up the volume on the speakers, I get a clicking sound. But no sound from wav files, mp3 files, etc. However, I can play music CD's! OS is W2k. Suggestions, please!

remove and reinstall your sound card drivers, you can remove them in device manager by selecting your sound card and clicking on remove. All things are possible except skiing through a revolving door.

Your windows event sounds probably got corrupt.
Go to SOUND in control panel and change the
scheme or remove and re-install them in add/remove programs,setup,multimedia
