My sound card is working fine in windows nt but when I reboot the speaker volume comes back muted. Is this a setting in the registry or something causing this to happen? Any help would be appreciated. =)

I have never heard of somthing doing that before. you may want to check you settings for your sound card, and then check you system boot settings, and see if it offers any help there. But with out more specific detail than that i cant do much for you
