My sound card is part of the motherboard - Asus K7M with 550 mHz CPU - I have 384 RAM, and am now using cable modem...yet when I try to play the radio, it plays for a few minutes, then clips out, then sort of freezes (using Realplayer - latest download, one of their stations.) I thought that getting cable would solve the online tradio problems! What could be causeing this? (I play while continuing to surf the net - that is what seems to cause the problems...the surfing and uploading of new sites...)I also use a firewall - could that hinder the playing of the radio?

Yes, I would say you have identified the problem. Even "sitting" at the radio site will result in losing the feed depending on general internet traffic and how much traffic the server you are connected to can support. Try going to View>Preferences and changing the settings under Connection and making sure the speed is right for your cable connection. Also check under performance and try lowering CPU usage. Changing the amount of buffer can help too.
