I'm having a problem and its driving me nuts. I recently purchased a Sound Blaster Audigy Digital Entertainment card.

To keep it short and sweet I can't have my sound working and controller(joystick) at the same time. It's like an either/or. I'm running windows 2000 and cannot find the proper drivers. I updated the drivers which I believed them to be the right ones, and I get no sound, but my joystick works. I go back to my original drivers and the sound works but it doesnt use my game port properly. It says my controllers not connected. If someone could help me out I'd appreceate it. Usually I'd sit here and hammer away at it all night but so far my day hasn't been "all sunshine." I'm going to wrap up my burnt index finger and go to sleep crossing my mangled digits in hopes someone will have an answer for me by morning. Thanks in advance.

sorry if i was vague i meant the gameport addon card that came with your audigy (well one came with mine so im assuming one cam with yours)

I'm using the one that came with the soundcard.

They seem to be conflictng with eachother.

It says there are no conflicts, but it also says it's not connected.

It works when theres no sound, and when there's sound it doesn't work. Are the game port and soundcard supposed to use the same IRQ? I don't see how they could without conflicting like they seem to be doing.

My sound cards on IRQ 11.

Have you tried the soundcard in a different PCI slot? CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk

are you using the gameport taht plughs directly onto the sound card?

I haven't got around to trying it in a different slot. It seems to be working fine except for the game port. I'll let you know what happens when I get a chance to try it out. I highly doubt thats the problem but I might suprise myself.

And yes I'm using the one that plugs into the side of the card.
