Hi,

Using CR 10.0, CE 10.0, Oracle 9i and making Native Connection to Oracle via TNS settings.

Report is grouped by Accounting_Unit.

Column A Formula:
Sum (Salaries1, Accounting_Unit)

Column B Formula:
Sum (Salaries2, Accounting_Unit)

ColumnC:
ColumnB + ColumnA

I want to sort by ColumnC but it does not show up in the Record Sort Expert / Group Sort Expert.

Above explaination on COlumnA, ColumnB and ColumnC is simple version on this question.

I do have few more layers where I an calculating the salaries by adding / subtracting to get final salaries but the base formulas stay same as "Sum (ColumnXXX, Accounting_Unit)"

Is it possible to sort on ColumnC above.

Thanks for help.

Try creating a formula:

Salaries1 + Salaries2

Then insert a summary on this at the Accounting Unit group level. Then you can do a group sort on it. Group sort is only available for inserted summaries.

I have been working in Crystal Reports from last 6 years and I should have known this.

Thank you so very much for pointing me to right direction and being a great contributor on this forum.

STAR for you to express my thanks.
