Is it possible to sort a report based on a shared variable?
I am storing names in a shared variable as some names come from a subreport and others come from the main report, but I want to sort my data alphabetically (by name)

Interesting, I've never tried it. I ll run a little test tmw morning and see if it will work with my data...hm.

Definitely keeping my eye on this one! LMC cryerlisa@hotmail.com

Sorry, all shared variables are 'whileprinting' which happens after the sorting. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting
