I have run into this problem several times and have had no luck finding a solution. It is especially a problem on charts and crosstabs. I am pulling information out of Macola, and the date types are stored as numbers. This isn't a problem unless I want to convert the number to a date and then display it using only the month as text. Once I convert it, I cannot find a way to display the months in calendar order, only alphabetic. Can anyone help me solve this problem?

For charts, if you are using the Advanced layout, on the Data tab, select your formula converting the month and click the > to move it to the text box underneath the On change of drop down. Click on the formula within this text box and select the Order button. It allows you to specify the sort order in the same fashion as the Group Expert. At the drop down select 'in specified order' then go to the Specified Order tab and enter the months as you want them displayed.
If you use the Group layout, it takes the group option set under the Report menu, Change Group Expert, Option sort as it's 'sort/specified' order.

For crosstabs, while you are in the format cross-tab expert, click on the row or column field/formula and then Group Options and do the same as above.

Hope this helps,
Jacque

Thanks! I realized that on the crosstabs, but still missed it on the charts. I feel silly for missing the obvious, but I'm glad that I can do it now.
