Hi,

I wanted to know which is more efficient, to sort data using a sorter transformation in Informatica before aggregating the data or to use an Order by in the source qualifier override?

Thanks

Hello Harlak13,

to use an Order by in the source qualifier override is more efficient than using sorter transformation, remember whatever operation u can peroform on db side is always more efficient than doing using informatica transformation.

Raj,

Thanks for your reply. I was also thinking that an order by will definitely be faster than a sorter transform. But, in my project we are using sorter transform's since the sort engine that they use are better than the aggregator sorting the records! If not too much of a hassle can you please explain why this is so?

Thanks,
