I recently upgraded from NT 4.0 to W2k. Under NT 4.0 I was able to sort the files in My Documents folder by date, most recent first and the setting would remain. Now under W2k, after I set the sort order and then close the folder, It reverts back to alpha order. I have tired the settings under folder options and nothing seems to work.

Please Help

Try setting the view the way you want and then
close the Explorer window with the close box
while holding down a Ctrl- key.

If that doesnt work, make another folder under C: and call it something else, copy your files from my docs to the new colder, and try to see if it remebers the settings in the new folder

Monarols,

Thanks for getting back to me. I tried the suggestions that you gave but unfortunately they did not work. As I have been playing with it, I am able to get it to save the settings and sort by date, most recent first, if I save the settings in detail view. But if I try it in list view mode, it reverts to sort by date oldest first.

Sorry if I didn't give you full info before.

Any other Ideas would be greatly appreciated.
