Sort order has changed

After converting from 97 to 2003, the sort order has changed. It appears that Access doesn't see any " ' " in names. It sorts by the character following the " ' ". Any thoughts.

just opening the table and using the sort button on the tool bar
 
You should really view your tables via queries, as a general rule. Just create a query copying all the table fields into the QBE grid and order your sort field. Does it still do that funny ordering?

 
Did you check what is set Tools > Options > General > New Database SortOrder?
You may find a clue there. Default is "General" in 97 and 2002
need to check in 2003

I found the problem - going from 16 to 32 bit
The latter ignores hyphens and apostrophe's during a sort
